Exporting olive oil to Europe

Demand for olive oil in Europe is growing. Extra virgin olive oil is particularly popular as a good source of monosaturated fats and polyphenols. Opportunities for new developing country suppliers can be found in large European markets, such as France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium. New suppliers must be able to compete with producers from Italy, Spain, Greece and Portugal by offering premium quality olive oil or by offering value added, such as organic and sustainably produced oils.
