Tjalling de Boer, market researcher at CBI

Tjalling de Boer (MSc) is a market researcher and moderator for this webinar. He has a degree in psychology and business administration and has been active in research for over 15 years. Since 2023, Tjalling has led the research team on the cocoa and coffee sectors on behalf of CBI. Besides his work for CBI, he mainly caried out research for SMEs, municipalities and semi-governmental organisations. In addition to doing research, Tjalling teaches research methodology and statistics at a Dutch university. He has been the director of Contenza since 2017.

Gabriel Esteban Chavez Gonzalez

Gabriel Esteban Chavez Gonzalez is Manager Sustainable Sourcing at the Global Coffee Platform (GCP). An Environmental Engineer active in the coffee sector since 2016, he previously spent 7 years at a leading Colombian coffee exporter. There, he partnered directly with cooperatives and producers to implement sustainability standards. Today at GCP, Gabriel develops practical tools and fosters sector-wide collaboration to advance sustainable sourcing and improve farmers' livelihoods.

Luciana Flores Martins Swan

Luciana Flores Martins Swan is an architect and urbanist with an MPhil in sustainability from the University of Edinburgh. In 2022, she took over her family’s farm, Toca da Onça. Today, she is a specialty coffee producer with a strong focus on regenerative agriculture and innovation.

Under her leadership, the farm creates award-winning coffee and has earned important certifications, including CERTIFICA MINAS CAFÉ and REGENAGRI UK. Together with her son, Stuart, Luciana sells high-quality coffee in Brazil and exports to countries worldwide, including the Netherlands, the UK, and Japan.
