Tender for consultants for CBI’s decent work for female workers project: Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast dried mango
CBI is looking for 2 country teams of consultants to assist in improving the working conditions for women employed in the dried mango sector in Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast. Each country will have its own team.
In both countries we are looking for experts who can provide:
- Technical coaching to dried mango small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on production and productivity management in line with EU market demand;
- Local project coordination and technical coaching for SMEs;
- Advice and guidance to SMEs on human resources management in line with local labour laws;
- Coaching and advice on women's inclusion, as well as support for sector-wide knowledge sharing and learning.
About the project
CBI is launching a project in the dried mango sector of Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast, aimed at improving the working conditions of women employed in this sector. The project supports mango drying factories in increasing their productivity while also improving employment terms and working conditions. The base of this project is the idea that higher productivity and better working conditions mutually reinforce each other.
To achieve this, CBI will:
- Support SMEs to streamline production and increase productivity. This helps them to achieve consistent product quality, improve employee performance, and reduce production costs.
- Help SMEs effectively organise their human resources management, in consultation with their female employees, to improve working conditions and productivity.
- Support SMEs in product diversification to extend factory operations throughout more of the year. This will help retain staff longer, increase experience levels, and improve productivity.
- Promote sector-wide exchange of experiences and knowledge, ensuring that best practices for improving productivity and working conditions are shared broadly.

- Follow up on the technical coaching delivered by the expert (1) and support SMEs in implementing agreed actions;
