What is the community based tourism (CBT) potential of Bolivia?

CBT has been developed to a greater extent in neighbouring countries (Peru, Ecuador) and is an integral part of the tourism product. Bolivia’s diverse ethnic culture could be better capitalised in order to diversify the tourism experience and to make sure tourism benefits reach wider sections of the community. This report makes an assessment of the present situation and identifies factors that could account for the lack of market uptake.
