Are you interested in meeting new suppliers? The Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) can put you in touch with reliable quality suppliers to do business with a European partner. Each of these companies has received individual coaching from a CBI sector expert. The suppliers offer a diverse range of fish and seafood.
Central American suppliers ready for the European Market
At Seafood Expo Global (SEG), CBI will present 7 companies from Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama that are ready to enter the European Market. The companies offer an interesting range of products.
It will be the first time that Central American companies exhibit together at a regional pavilion at SEG. This way, the pavilion will be a one-stop-shop for importers interested in the variety of products on offer.
Central America is an attractive region for European fish and seafood importers because of the combination of aquaculture. They have dark colour cooking quality Vannamei shrimps from Guatemala and Honduras, and snapper from Costa Rica; and wild catch fresh fish from Panama and Costa Rica, complemented with value-added lobster and conch from Nicaragua.
Most of the companies have a modern certified processing plant to make tailor-made products according to customer specifications. Many of the exports currently go to the USA or Asia. Still, the Central American companies offer numerous products that appeal to the European market as well, especially considering the Association Agreement signed between the EU and the Central American region in 2012, which has improved conditions for trade. With low prices and high requirements in the USA, Central America is looking to the European market to diversify.
You could be the first to take advantage of their search for alternatives.
