The Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) is an agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. As part of its mission to contribute to sustainable economic development in developing countries through the expansion of exports from these countries, it coaches companies and associations in finding sustainable export opportunities in the European Union).

For our IT-ITES project in Uganda CBI is seeking two experts.

  1. Expert to assist the local counterparts to develop a sector-level marketing strategy aimed at the European Market
  2. Researcher/expert to  explore the need for business development services amongst IT companies in Uganda and work with local Business Support Organisations and/or private sector providers of services to improve their service offer to the sector.

Requirements
The qualifications required for the International Marketing Expert are as follows:

  • At least 5 years of practical experience in the field of formulating and implementing public and private marketing promotion strategies
  • A proven track record of projects of identity, brand experiences, and advertising campaigns
  • A proven track record in marketing development trajectories for sectorial and/or national brands in Africa, experience in IT sector is an asset
  • At least several years of experience in the field of international marketing strategies and communication projects
  • Excellent English written and oral
  • A proven record of outstanding communication and networking abilities in the context of developing countries
  • Available for missions between August 2019 and mid-2020

The qualifications required for the BDS Expert are as follows:

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in the field of researching BDS markets in Africa
  • A proven track record of developing BDS with business support organisations and private sector providers
  • Experience with IT related companies as customers of services is an asset
  • Excellent English written and oral
  • A proven record of outstanding communication and networking abilities in the context of developing countries
  • Available for missions between August 2019 and mid-2020
