Pipes and process equipment: The EU market for steel flanges

This CBI market survey for steel flanges shows that EU demand for steel flanges increased by almost 24% per year since 2003 to €959 million in 2007. A major reason for this growth is the fact of higher raw material prices that were translated into price surcharges to the customer. Growth in Central and Eastern Europe was higher than in other parts of Europe, which will remain unchaged in the years to come. For the next few years, the negative outlook for the EU and world economy will put a limit on demand growth. Developing Countries increased their share of EU imports from 13% in 2003 to 32% in 2007. As price remains an important issue in the EU, the developing countries' share in EU imports may very well continue to increase in the years to come.

This market survey covers the EU market and the markets in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom for steel flanges. It provides information on industrial demand, production & trade (market size and trends ), trade channels for market entry, price developments, market access requirements and business practices & sales promotion.
