Long haul tourism: The EU market for MICE

Whereas ten years ago, business travel was just for board directors and high flying executives, nowadays it has become much less a status symbol and more a corporate necessity in order to attend trainings, conferences and seminars and to conduct client meetings around the globe. However, European MICE organisers expect that the economic crisis will lead to reductions in bookings, travel, meeting and event budgets and staffing. It is expected that this will continue until the economy begins to rebound.
