Market access requirements consist of (a) legislation laid down by the EU, the EU Member States, or Norway, and (b) voluntary private sector requirements. The market access requirements that are explained in the database are the ones that are of importance to producers from developing countries that want to export their products to the EU. They relate to four main drivers, (1) EU consumer health and safety, (2) environment, (3) social conditions, and (4) product quality.
