If you export products wrapped with or supported by wood packaging material (WPM), you have to make sure that the WPM is conform EU requirements. The most important requirements relate to approved methods of wood treatment and marking. All EU requirements for WPM are based on the international ISPM 15 standard.

Examples of WPM are: packing cases, boxes, crates, drums, pallets and box pallets). The requirements also apply to dunnage (wood used to wedge and support non-wood cargo).

This document outlines the most important requirements for WPM shipped to the EU. A Questions & Answers section to help you to comply with the requirements is provided as well.
