EU legislation: Heavy metals in automotive components and materials (end-of-life vehicles)

|
If you want to export automotive components and materials to the EU, you have to make sure that your products comply with the EU legislation on End-of Live Vehicles (ELV). This legislation prohibits the presence of lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium and obliges the materials and components to be coded. However, there are some applications of components and materials that are exempted from the restriction. This document provides an outline on the requirements affecting your export to the EU, examples of exempted applications and some recommendations.
