Environment: Improvement options for plastic
|
The downloadable document describes the process of producing plastic products from raw material. The document starts with a short description of the plastics industry and its environmental impacts. This is followed by a MET matrix. A MET matrix is a relatively simple method of listing environmental impacts that should be taken into account. Each process step is shortly described in order to have a starting point for the description of the environmental aspects which result from the process step. Also, several improvement options are provided for each process step. The intention of the improvement options is to give an idea what steps companies can take to make their products and production process more sound. The improvement options are not meant to give tailor-made solutions.
