Environment: Improvement options for engineering

The engineering sector exists of a large range of products, which all have different production processes. Due to the large number of processes, it is not possible to give a complete overview of options for cleaner production. However, there are certain general processes, which are relevant to the production of a large range of machinery.

This document provides information on environmentally sound production options for these general production processes. Information is provided in relation to foundry, cleaning, immersions, use of cooling and lubricating agents, finishing and coating.
In addition, some general measures in process management can result in environmental improvement are described.
