Environment: Improvement options for ceramics

This document gives environmentally sound improvement options in the production of ceramics. Options will be given for every step in the process of producing ceramics. A MET matrix is also included in the document. This matrix identifies the environmental effects, distinguished into (raw) materials, energy and (toxic) emissions, during the life cycle.

The improvement options are not meant to give tailor-made solutions. Environmental issues demand a comprehensive integrated approach, which means that all departments within a company should be involved, in order to tackle the problems of pollution.
