Nowadays companies all over the world are under pressure, sales may have dropped considerably. Especially in the automotive sector.
The European Engineering Industries Association Orgalime reports that the European engineering industry will slow down to a 1.2 % in production growth. Some sectors like agricultural machinery and energy are expected to do rather good.
More European companies may look for reliable suppliers in emerging markets. Suppliers that stand out have better chances.
Opportunities
To international entrepreneurs, Europe is potentially one of the most profitable markets in the world. At the same time it also a very complex, competitive and dynamic market. Exporters eager to access the EU market must prepare themselves carefully and thoroughly.
Demand for engineering products in Europe is estimated at more than € 100 milliard. Imports from developing countries are relatively small € 4 milliard, but increasing by more than 20% yearly. In 2006 the production output of engineering products in Europe increased by 7.5 to more than€ 130 milliard. Germany, Italy, France, UK, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands are the most important production countries.
Rising production costs are forcing many European companies to purchase outside the EU and imports have shown major growth in recent years. This means there are good opportunities for aspiring exporters. The only question is: how do you turn them into profitable business?
Intensive support
Selected participantis will be given intensive, tailored support in acquiring a firm and lasting foothold on the EU market. For five years they will be coached by a team of sector experts in the fields of product improvement, production, quality control, management, export marketing and market entry. To help them develop actual business leads, collective trade fair participations at leading trade fairs around Europe will be part of the programme.
Scope:
The programme is accessible for companies who are producing drives and transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, electric motors, handling equipment, tooling dies and moulds, etc..
