Introduction

How do I know which EU requirements I need to meet? Where do I find the right and up to date information? Finding out the EU Legislation of your products and beyond.

Target Audience

The workshop audience should comply the following:
▪ General Managers / Production Managers/ Export Managers from small & medium sized companies (25-500 employees) in the sector Home Textiles who are already exporting to the EU or have products with proven EU export potential.
▪ The participants’ daily work is related to legal and/or non-legal aspects.
▪ The participant has excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of the English language.
▪ A small amount of BSO officials who are active in the above mentioned sector can also attend the workshop.


Goals

After participating in this training, you wil be able to...

  • understand the importance of meeting the EU requirements;
  • find relevant and up to date information on requirements;
  • distinguish market - from buyer requirements;
  • know the relevant market access requirements in the European market;
  • gain special awareness on consumer health and safety, environment and social issues; and,
  • be aware the relevant requirements of your product range.

Objectives


At the end of the training programme, the participant:
▪ knows the relevant market access requirements for the sector in the EU;
▪ knows what the latest trends in Home Textiles in the EU are;
▪ has knowledge and understanding of both the relevant legislative               requirements and non-
  legislative requirements (CSR)
▪ understands which implications the EU Market Access Requirements have on their production and
  export processes.
▪ is able to use a.o. the CBI-database and tools in order to stay up-to-date with developments in
  this sector;
▪ is able to produce an action plan to upgrade the knowledge and understanding of the market
  access requirements in the European market


Programme

Location and duration

It is a 2-day training course combining informative lectures with interactive sessions. The dates are Wednesday 11th August till Thursday 12th August. The location of the training programme will be Guatemala City, Guatemala.


Language

The workshop is conducted in the English language. All documentation provided by the CBI will be in English. Therefore, participants should have an excellent command of the English language. In case of real language problems simultaneous translation is approved. The arrangements for and payments to the translator(s) are on account of Agexport.
